Roll Shutters

Roll Shutters have been used in Europe for nearly 200 years in one form or another. The Germans refer to them as “Rolladen” and much of the shutter technology along with components and equipment still comes from there.

Roll shutters have a mid position that allows light and shadows to filter through so that you can see out the shutter but unwanted visitors or passers by can not.

Roll shutters do as their name implies roll up and down in front of an opening between 2 guides and collect into a box mounted above the opening. They can be operated either manually or electrically.

Roll Shutters come in various materials as well. Aluminum is the most common and practical due to its corrosive resistance, durability and affordable costs.

Our experience has shown that PVC or plastic roll shutters have a tendency to deteriorate over time in our climate. We experience all extremes in temperature and weather. The extreme cold and extreme hot cause the PVC to break down and weaken over time.

The hooks connecting one slat to another then break and ultimately need to be replaced. The aluminum being metal outlasts PVC and can withstand our extreme weather conditions.

Aluminum Roll Shutters provide the ultimate in hurricane protection for your home. A variety of colors and installation types guarantee a blending of the roll shutters with existing home architecture.
